Inspiration behind the design. I am a journaler. It's a huge part of my process, as an artist and how I manage my mental health. I love the ritual of morning pages. I even have a 5 year journal on my bedside table where I capture my gratitude practice.
I have lots of journals but over the years I have found that when I am going on a trip I want a smaller journal that captures that experience, cover to cover. I don't want to bring a 100 page trip on a trip that I will most likely not fill. Where the memories and reflections from that experience are buried in the pages of some journal - I wanted to make something that had fewer pages, where each page can capture one day of your trip / vacation. Where you can add mini instax photos or create your own collages with a map or draw the plants you're seeing on the trail. Capture a memorable meal, the label of an unforgettable wine. It's your make it personal. Make it yours.
The front and back covers are hand-painted bamboo by textile artist Annabella Sardelis, the Founder of INDIGO & SNOW, a textile studio dedicated to zero waste and sustainable design in Minneapolis, MN.
